Photo Of The Day: October 12, 2008

Oak Orchard Creek is a tailwater fishery in upstate New York that remains ice free throughout most of early the winter. A hydroelectric dam regulates the creek's flow into Lake Ontario, and there is 2½ miles of good fishing between the dam and Lake Ontario. But even if you don't fish, there's incredible beauty there, as seen in this photo. Perhaps that's why there are several large marinas and more than 300 private boat moorings here.
