Photo Of The Day: July 23, 2008

While positioning myself to take photos of the dolphins in the Shrewsbury River here in New Jersey recently, I accidentally disturbed an egret who was settling in for the view himself. As he flew away, I took advantage of the telephoto lens to capture him in flight. Here's one shot with his wings down, and we'll follow that tomorrow with a shot of his wings up.
